Moving houses is a common thing, almost everybody will move houses in their lifetime. Uprooting the lives of your wife and children to move halfway across the country is slightly less common, however its not imperative that the world needs to know this. The number one thing that fans and celebrities agree on  is that celebrities are people too. The average Joe doesn't make the news for a move from LA to Chicago, so why should the Kardashian- West family be on the news? Is it because they are known by a vast majority of the population? It is unknown why the Karadashian-West family is on the news. Have you ever had a conversation with a person but you just cant seem to get your point across? Maybe it’s because they simply cant understand you or the language you’re speaking or it might be because you are trying to teach a sexist about feminism. No matter what it is you are experiencing a communication filter. Communication filters disrupt the basic thought process of the human brain, and they have the potential to wreak havoc in the journalistic field. Fox news is liberal? That is not actually the case but imagine if Fox discovered they could make more money by switching from the conservative network cable watchers love, to a liberal network that appeals to younger audiences. Just imagining it is bizarre and totally appalling. When white 2 journalism 1 was introduced to the elitist—populist binary model almost everyone agreed that being called an elitist was not a celebratory thing. When it comes to journalistic terms I am no longer so certain. Populist media is known for giving the people what they want. The current events quiz is probably one of my favorite parts of J1. The fact that I have to keep up with the news to get the grade I want seems like the perfect way to exspose J+C students to real world media. Before I only paid attention to the news when I found something intriguing or had heard about a big story. The current events quiz has coerced me into fully investing myself in learning about the happenings of the world. I love how Mr. Miller is encouraging us to learn about the world with this weekly quiz, however, I wish that we spent more time discussing the topics in class. If the topics are relevant enough for us to need to know about them , then I believe that they are relevant enough to spend more time discussing.  Because we have so much we need to learn, I understand that we aren’t able to take an entire class period to discuss the ten events on the quiz, but it would be nice to take ten minutes to discuss one of the topics in more depth. " The most important part of good journalism is telling the whole and complete truth." I couldn't agree more with the statement made in Cassidy Adwell's "What is Good Journalism" blog post          cassidyadwell.blogspot.com . The truth is the foundation of journalism, we can't begin to critique journalism if its not in fact journalism. Truth should be a deal breaker when it comes to journalism, if a story does not tell the truth then its not journalism. It is understood that on occasion journalists make mistakes, and the stories they release are not accurate, however that is different from intentionally leaving out a fact or just straight up lying.
